CA Court Rules Social Media Companies Can Be Compelled To Provide Defendants Some User Content

On Thursday, May 24, 2018, California’s Supreme Court ruled that social media companies can be compelled to provide criminal defendants user content that is public.

Many social media companies including Facebook have ignored requests arguing that federal law prevents the release of user content.
