Google retains Location History and Gmail content—but not forever, and not always fully.
With consent or court order, you may recover:
• Maps Timeline routes
• Gmail headers and timestamps
• Google Photos metadata
But retention varies, and deleted items may not be recoverable.
📌 Practical Action:
• Immediately send Google a preservation request under their Law Enforcement Request system (LER).
• If your client has access to the account, perform a legal and defensible download (Google Takeout) before they lose access.
• Prioritize if you suspect the account is tied to movement, search activity, or communications around the time of the incident.
